Third stop: lunch. Owner: 48 yr old male, walking around like a real Italian with a knee-length Burberry coat, popped-collar with long masculine scarf to match. Stomped up to the table demanding Facebook friendship. Bandit had to inform him she was not the girl that had just gotten on the restaurant’s page that he had been stalking out. He hovered and leaned over Bandit as she added him. Amazingly close to an embrace.

Things to note about lunch:

Bandit is incapable of minding her own business.
Gay couple visiting (an old college friend, perhaps?) from out of town:
Subjects covered by this visit:
a. Hot air balloons
b. Chapped lips
c. the American gifted a trip to Paris (yes, France) for a niece’s (Sarah) high school graduation… She’s a photographer. She also skis.
d. Bullying - it’s illegal (wherever Sarah lives… we know this because of Tyler, that old “jerk,” “pibsqueak,” and other names that reference the American’s disdain for this kid and how he’s treated Sarah)
e. Rosetta Stone - Portuguese — “you’ve heard of Rosetta Stone, right?”
f. The couple supposedly got married by a judge in Brazil, home to the foreign partner. The American wants to get his Citizenship and move back to Brazil
g. Has to be fluent in Portuguese
h. the American stopped drinking in 1994 — found this out because he questioned the date of the woman’s wedding. We know there is a story here, but we didn’t get it today.. Some mysteries just stay mysterious.
i. The quality of love, friendship and loyalty between the woman’s two children (boy and girl, 10 and 8)
j. Aggressive cancers
k. Neither the couple nor the woman have been to each others’ houses. Driving directions to the woman’s house available upon request
This was one of the best decisions of the day.
